We’ll walk through five reasons to wait for the 2016 MacBook Pro before you buy a new MacBook Pro and a few reasons you should jump in and buy a new Apple laptop today instead of waiting.

If you hate typing in your password, you may want to wait as new leaks indicate that the 2016 MacBook Pro will include a Touch ID power button integrated to an OLED touch screen. We also learn about the potential for more storage, and a new MagSafe charging option.

We’re talking about an unannounced 2016 MacBook Pro, the next version of the 13-inch and 15-inch Apple notebooks that are popular with many users who demand more power or a larger screen than the MacBook or MacBook Air offers. A Russian agency lists three Mac laptops in the pipeline for approval.

You can always wait for the next product announcement, but then you’ll end up wasting lots of time waiting. Once we come within the 14 day mark it makes more sense than ever to wait to buy a new MacBook Pro. Apple is holding a special event on October 27th, and it is going to focus on Macs.

Further adding to the need for a new MacBook are new sales estimates from Gartner that show Mac sales declining 13.4% compared to Q3 last year and an overall slip in market share.

When a new MacBook Pro release is close it makes sense to pause and make your current computer last a little longer.

In earlier years we would have told you to wait for a new MacBook Pro release to score a deal, but if you need a new computer and you don’t want to put down the cash on a brand new model, we are already seeing many back to school deals and discounts on refurbished models.
